Virtual League

Tyne and Wear Virtual Leagues - Sunderland School Sport Partnerships 
 

What?

• Intra School Competition that can be counted as Inter School Competition.
• Currently Multi Skills, Tri Golf, Badminton and Indoor Rowing.

Why?

• To help answer questions in the PESSYP survey.
• To help increase Inter School Competition figures.
• To help increase Intra School Competition figures.
• To help with ideas for School Sports Days.
• To support those schools who have more than one class per year group.
• To make Competitive School Sport more accessible regardless of transport cost, teacher cover, etc.

How?

• Log onto the webpage www.tynewearsport.org/microsites/virtual-league-home/virtual-sports then click on appropriate sport and download the session planners and try out / complete as and when possible. Also download the scorecards and enter scores and finally send in your results.
• Teachers to deliver with help from School Sport Coordinators, Primary Link Teachers and Competition Manager.
• There will be no winners via the Virtual Leagues however in Sunderland the Multi Skills Virtual Leagues will be used to invite the top four schools in Sunderland at Year One, Two, Three and Four to the Sunderland School Sport Partnership Multi Skills Finals. The Year Three and Four Final will be held week commencing 16 May 2011, 1.00 – 3.00pm,at a venue to be confirmed and the Year One and Two Final on week commencing 16 May 2011, 1.00 – 3.00pm,at a venue to be confirmed. The winning schools from the Year Three and Four Sunderland School Sport Partnership Multi Skills Final will progress to the Tyne and Wear School Sport Partnership on Wednesday 15 June 2011, 1.00 – 3.00pm, University Sports Centre, Newcastle.

• At your school in the hall on the yard or grass.
   

When?

• Whenever it suits you throughout the year.

Update

• The league tables’ page will soon be amended to enable schools to view their league position. In the meantime, please ensure you continue to enter your school's results on the individual sports pages. For example, under Multi Skills KS1 click on "Send Your Results Now". 

• At present the web provider has been tasked with up dating and amending the virtual league site as we have spotted a quite a few issues that need rectifying.
